How Hawai'i hotels are faring

Advertiser Staff

O'ahu hotels reached 78.4 percent occupancy and showed an 8.2 percent gain in room rates to $126.61 in part because of increased visitor arrivals during the Pro Bowl weekend, according to Hospitalty Advisors LLC. O'ahu began the week at 65.2 percent occupancy, but by the weekend, hotel occupancy peaked at 93.4 percent. Overall, statewide hotel occupancy declined by 2.2 percent from last year. However, statewide room rates increased.
