It came as a relief, but Waipahu boxer Brian Viloria made his weight yesterday.

After two tries, Viloria weighed in at 112 pounds and is now ready to face Juan Alfonso Keb Baas tonight in the main event of ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights."

"He was a little over on his first try," manager Gary Gittelsohn said. "So he ran back to his room, relieved himself, and then came back and made the weight."

Viloria, who is 13-0 with eight knockouts, will put his North American Boxing Federation (NABF) flyweight championship on the line tonight.

Keb Baas, who is 30-9-2, weighed 112 pounds on his first try.

The bout will take place at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, Conn., where it was 30 degrees and snowing yesterday.

"It's going to be my toughest fight," Viloria said. "But I feel like I've prepared myself properly. This guy has a lot of strength and experience, so there's no backing down."

Viloria, who is the No. 4-ranked flyweight in the world according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), will be boxing for the first time since July.

The ESPN2 broadcast will begin at 4 p.m. (Hawai'i time), with Viloria's bout scheduled to start around 5 p.m.
