Verizon may sell Isle access lines
Advertiser Staff
Verizon Communications aims to sell its local access lines in Hawai'i and upstate New York in an effort to reduce debt and rid itself of slow-growth markets, Reuters reported yesterday. The news agency, citing sources close to the situation, said the sales could raise several billion dollars before taxes for the leading U.S. telephone company.
The sources told Reuters that talks are in the early stages. Ann Nishida, spokeswoman for Verizon Hawaii in Honolulu, said she had no comment on the report.
