Hawai'i Community Foundation gives out $380,077 in grants statewide

The Hawai'i Community Foundation has awarded $380,077 in grants from its Mo' Bettah Together program to 33 community projects statewide. The projects are:

• O'ahu: Adult Friends for Youth, Pu'uwai Momi Parent Involvement Project; American Civil Liberties Union of Hawai'i Foundation, Hawai'i Juvenile Justice Project; American Friends Services Committee, youth leadership retreat and talk-story sessions; Boys & Girls Club of Hawai'i, empower residents to take back McCully-Waikiki-Mo'ili'ili; Chaminade University of Honolulu, Project SHINE; Good Beginnings Alliance, Kuhio Park Terrace keiki play area improvements; Greater East Honolulu Community Alliance, Kaimuki Parking Solutions; Hawai'i Intergenerational Network, increase senior resources in elementary schools; Ho'ala School, service learning project; Moanalua Middle School, student-community partnerships' Olomana Foursquare Church, Kailua ICE Task Force; Parent Participation Nursery School, involvement with high school parenting course; Planned Parenthood of Hawai'i; faith-feminist cooperation; Punahou School, public and private school student environmental steward project; YMCA of Honolulu, 'Ewa Beach community policing.

• Big Island: Church of God, Lanakila Residents Council; Community Development Pacific Inc., Miloli'i village wisdom program for youth; Five Mountains Hawai'i, North Hawai'i Youth Coalition; Hawai'i's Volcano Circus Ltd., performance arts; Ocean View Community Development Corp., sand volleyball court project at Kahuku Park; People Advocacy for Trails Hawai'i, Kealakehe Walks; YMCA, leadership development in community development; Waimea Outdoor Circle, community cleanup.

• Kaua'i: Garden Island Resource Conservation & Development Inc., community drug plan; Good Beginnings Alliance, Hanapepe Heights and Cliffside Parks pride; West Kaua'i Business & Professional Association, Waimea Town beautification; YWCA of Kaua'i, Lyd-gate Park art project.

• Maui: Kipahulu 'Ohana Inc., Kapahu Living farm workdays; Maui Family YMCA, Kalakupua Community Playground.

• Moloka'i: Bishop Museum, educational programs at Mo'omomi Bay; Mediation Center of Moloka'i, domestic violence task force.

• Statewide: Hawai'i Special Olympics.
