Hawai'i course of the week

Advertiser Staff

Kapolei golf course
No. 18 I 354 yards, par 4

Kapolei, which opened in 1995, is in O'ahu's "Second City," about 24 miles west of Waikiki. The Ted Robinson design played host to the LPGA's Hawaiian Ladies Open for six years. It features five strategically placed lakes, 72 bunkers, undulated fairways and elevated greens, providing a challenging and enjoyable round for players of all skills.

The closing hole plays 415 yards from the back tees. A lake guards the left side of the fairway, with a waterfall beside the green. Trade winds blow right to left, making this a great finishing hole.

There is a spacious driving range lit for night play, fully stocked pro shop and large restaurant, which offers authentic Japanese cuisine as well as a variety of American foods.
