Five veteran music-industry artists representing various strains of Hawaiian music and chant will be honored by the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts as 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award winners in a luncheon March 14 at the Maui Ballroom of the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.

The awards ceremony will be included in the annual Na Hoku Hanohano Award evening set for May 24 originating from the Hilton Hawaiian Village on May 24.

The five honorees are:

He is the leader of the Na Hoku award-winning Peter Moon Band and a founder of the pivotal combo The Sunday Manoa; he also is a recording producer and concert producer and promoter, who staged the Kanikapila productions for years at the University of Hawai'i.
  • Marlene Sai, premier Waikiki showroom headliner and recording star. A Na Hoku award-wining female vocalist, she also is a recording company executive, former president of the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts, and a recording star best known for "Waikiki," "Kainoa" and "I Love You."
