Standard & Poor's raised its credit rating for Bank of Hawaii Corp. yesterday, saying the company's outlook improved from stable to positive.
The parent company of the Bank of Hawaii was given a long-term rating of "BBB," up from "BBB-."
The long-term rating for the bank itself was raised from "BBB" to "BBB+" while its short-term rating of "A-2" was affirmed.
"The ratings actions reflect the balance of strong operating performance offset by the risks associated with geographic concentration in Hawai'i," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Mark Kilduff.
