THE LEFT LANE
Tell us about your romance

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Want to tell the world about your fine romance? The Advertiser is profiling couples in a new feature called "Love Stories" that focuses on partners taking the plunge.

If you are planning a wedding or have recently wed, share your story. Weekly profiles will appear alongside wedding announcements on the Sunday 'Ohana page in Island Life.

To submit your story or wedding announcement for consideration, mail a copy of your invitation (Acrobat Reader required) along with the details to Love Stories, The Advertiser, P.O. Box 3110, Honolulu, HI 96802. You also can fax information to 525-8055 or e-mail islandlife@honoluluadvertiser.com.

See before you eat

Want to know what the food might look like on your next flight (assuming you're lucky enough to get any)? At www.airlinemeals.net, photos taken by passengers in flight are posted, along with their ratings and comments.

More than 300 airlines are represented, from Aeroflot to Yangon Airways. Simply click on a link for your carrier, browse through the photos and voila! (Or eek!)

The dishes run the gamut, from a bag of TGI Friday's potato skins on AirTran to a poached salmon terrine on a lentil and potato salad served aboard the now-defunct Concorde.

The site also features in-flight menus, vintage airline meal photos and even a peek at the (unexciting) meals provided for the flight crews.

Train for the long run

Have any plans for Dec. 12?

You do now: the Honolulu Marathon.

Yes, it's long (26.2 miles) and yes, it takes a lot of training and dedication. But the Honolulu Marathon Clinic, as it has for 31 years, can help.

The clinic resumes at 7:30 a.m. March 14 in Kapi'olani Park, across from 3833 Paki Ave., with an informative talk followed by group runs with experienced leaders. And it's free.
