The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team's season-best two-game winning streak was halted last night after a 68-57 road loss to Tulsa at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Megan Moody scored 17 points and Jillian Robbins and Candice Brewer added 11 apiece for Tulsa, which made 11 of 21 3-point attempts.

Tulsa improved to 16-9 overall and 9-6 in the Western Athletic Conference. Hawai'i fell to 7-17 and 5-10.

The Rainbows were down 27-19 in the first half, but rallied to cut the deficit to 29-27 at halftime.

The Golden Hurricane went on a 12-0 run over a 3-minute span to take a 43-31 lead with 13:14 remaining in the game.

"We competed and battled on the road," Hawai'i coach Vince Goo said. "We really competed with their players."

Hawai'i was led by freshmen Pam Tambini and Janevia Taylor, who scored 16 and 15 points, respectively.

"Nevia and Pam and even Brittany Grice (5 points, 4 rebounds) they competed so hard tonight," Goo said. "We're really proud of them."

Hawai'i will play its final road game of the season tomorrow at Rice.

Note: Alumnae who played for UH coach Vince Goo are being encouraged to attend the March 6 home finale against Fresno State. Former players will receive a free ticket for them and a guest. Goo will retire after this season. For more information, call 956-4325.
