Up the resolution! You are not alone
Advertiser Staff
"This year's going to be different ... "
Admit it. You've muttered those words on Jan. 1 before. New Year's resolutions are a part of our very fiber. They tease us, haunt us, embarrass us.
Isn't it good to know you're not alone?
The Web site myGoals.com has released its annual predictions for 2004. It includes studies and help on how many people are going to make resolutions to improve health and fitness, or career goals, personal goals, finance, family and relationship ... the list is long, interesting and informative.
And for those who say they are done making resolutions in 2004 we say ... yeah, right!
When you want that lightening to strike
Weight Watchers Hawaii offers these tips for keeping your resolution:
Concentrate on getting started; don't worry about every detail of a weight-loss program.
Make your first major goal to lose 10 percent of your body weight.
Portion size is key to successful weight loss.
Be flexible. Adjust exercise or eating when you've got a special occasion to gear up (or pay) for.
Count your successes. Celebrate every pound you've lost as you move toward your goal.
(We're pretty sure they don't mean to celebrate each one with a hot-fudge sundae.)
