The Fresno State men's basketball team will be without two of its top players when it opens the Western Athletic Conference season against the University of Hawai'i Saturday.
Leading scorer Renaldo Major and third-leading scorer Jonathan Woods are suspended for the game for violating team rules, according to a Fresno State press release.
Major, a 6-foot-7 forward who is averaging 14.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, has been on suspension since Dec. 22. He scored a team-high 14 points in Fresno State's 56-55 victory over UH last season.
Woods, a 6-7 forward who is averaging 12.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, was suspended last Saturday. It was his second suspension of the season. He started in both games against UH last season.
According to the school release, both players are suspended indefinitely.
