Radford rolls to victory in OIA West opener

Tauran Moore scored 15 points, William Kerins 13 and Mike Davis 11, leading the visiting Radford Rams to a 61-45 O'ahu Interscholastic Association Western Division victory over the Wai'anae Seariders last night.

Radford led 40-33 entering the fourth quarter and outscored the Seariders 21-12 in the OIA season opener for both.

Castle 44, Kailua 32: Bryan Pelangka scored eight points and five teammates contributed six each, leading the visiting Knights over the Surfriders in an OIA East game last night.

Castle led 17-15 at halftime and broke open the game with a 14-3 third quarter for a 31-18 lead.

McKinley 86, Thompson 24: Abel Werner scored 16 points to lead four teammates in double figures as the host Tigers routed the Sharks in their OIA Eastern Division debut.

Quentin Sayers and Robert Holders added 14 each, and Golden Lawrence and Chris Quiocho 12 each for the Tigers

Leilehua 52, Pearl City 47: The visiting Mules beat the Chargers in an OIA West game. No other details were reported.

Two games postponed: Last night's Roosevelt at Kaiser and 'Aiea at Waipahu games were postponed because of weather related problems. Roosevelt and Kaiser will play tonight. No make-up date was announced for 'Aiea and Waipahu.

Today's postponements

Events washed out: Rain has caused postponements for today's softball and soccer games on O'ahu.

In ILH softball, all games have been postponed except for Punahou vs. University and Maryknoll vs. Mid-Pacific; word on those two games were pending as of last night.

In OIA softball, all games were postponed except for Castle-McKinley, Kaiser-Roosevelt and Kalaheo-Kaimuki.

In ILH soccer, all games except for Mid-Pacific vs. Saint Louis and Iolani's boys vs. Damien have been postponed. In OIA soccer, all games except for Moanalua at Kaimuki have been postponed.

Makeup dates for most events will be determined later. The postponed OIA varsity softball games will be 3:30 p.m. Monday; JV games will be Tuesday or Thursday.
