Honolulu ranked as fittest city

Associated Press

Have another plate lunch, Honolulu. It's OK, a new survey shows the city is the fittest in the country — again. For the second-straight year, Honolulu topped the list of fittest cities as ranked by Men's Fitness magazine.

The magazine uses 14 categories to determine the fittest and fattest cities in America.

Criteria include the number of health clubs and sporting goods stores and the number of fast-food and ice-cream and doughnut shops per capita, air quality, climate, TV viewing trends and availability of healthcare.

Honolulu was followed by San Francisco; Virginia Beach, Va.; Denver; and Colorado Springs, Colo.

Seattle; Boston; Portland, Ore.; Tucson, Ariz.; and Sacramento, Calif., rounded out the top 10 fittest cities.
