Woman held in Makiki stabbing

Authorities charged a 60-year-old Makiki woman with attempted second-degree murder in the stabbing of her roommate Friday.

Joan Fletcher of Dole Street was held in lieu of $50,000. The roommate, a 22-year-old-man, was stabbed in the chest and was in stable condition at The Queen's Medical Center.

Police said Fletcher accused the man of stealing money from her.

Visitor stricken in bay identified

The medical examiner's office today identified a 56-year-old man who died at The Queen's Medical Center Saturday after being pulled from Hanauma Bay as Steve Hamill of Saugus, Calif.
