Officer arrested in threat case

A 12-year veteran Honolulu police officer was arrested early yesterday on charges of terroristic threatening.

Officer Harry Kahoano, 35, has been removed from patrol duty and reassigned to an administrative position with pay, pending the outcome of an internal and criminal investigation, Police Chief Lee Donohue said.

Kahoano allegedly threatened his estranged wife's boyfriend on Sunday. The officer was arrested around 1 a.m. at the Pearl City substation, where he is assigned.

Man who died in crash identified

The medical examiner's office yesterday identified the 78-year-old man who died Friday after crashing his car into a wall in the parking lot of One Kalakaua Living center as Calvin Y. Ishikawa.

Cause of death has been deferred pending further lab tests. Ishikawa's death is not classified as a traffic fatality because it occurred on private property.
