BUSINESS BRIEFS
Executive editor joins Fresno Bee

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Advertiser Executive Editor Jim Kelly is leaving the newspaper for The Fresno Bee effective Jan. 16.

Kelly, 43, joined The Advertiser in 1997 as assistant managing editor supervising the news desk, city desk and business desk. In 2000, he was named executive editor, the number two position in the newsroom.

"Since he joined this newsroom seven years ago, Jim has been a consistent force for excellence," said Advertiser Editor Saundra Keyes in announcing Kelly's resignation. "There's no one who cares more about breaking a big story, about writing it well, or about making sure it's right."

Kelly will become an assistant managing editor at the Fresno newspaper.
