Couple to speak on forgiveness

Dr. Gerry Jampolsky and his wife, Diane Cirincione, Ph.D., will present a free talk on "Forgiveness, the Greatest Healer of All" as part of Central Union Church's Learning Tree Forum.

The hourlong talk Jan. 18 in the women's building on the church grounds will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Jampolsky and Cirincione, part-time Hawai'i residents, are nationally known authors who regularly speak on the topic.

Center offers 2 sets of classes

The Center for Positive Living, which is affiliated with the Religious Science Church of Honolulu, has scheduled two series of classes:

  • "Joseph Campbell — Myth & Spirit," an eight-class series led by the Rev. Frank White, pastor of the Religious Science Church of Honolulu, starts at 7 p.m. Jan. 27, at the Center for Positive Living, in Suite 301 at 1521 S. King St. White will talk about how myth applies to the physical and social aspects of life and how one forges self-identity within the world.
  • "Building a Healing Consciousness," an eight-session series on a prayer technique, also taught by White, starts at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Center for Positive Living.

Cost: $15 per class or $80 for each series.

Marianists to celebrate

Saint Louis School and Chaminade University are celebrating their Marianist heritage this month.

There will be a Jan. 29 walk-a-thon, campus visit, prayer services and a Mass, and a social to celebrate the Feast of Blessed Chaminade on Jan. 22.
