Farewell to our troops of the 25th Infantry
As the first wave of soldiers of the 25th Infantry Division heads for Iraq as part of a massive rotation aimed at relieving war-weary soldiers, we join families and friends in wishing them well.
Over the next two weeks, some 4,800 Schofield Barracks troops will be flying to Kuwait, where they will prepare to roll into Iraq.
A difficult mission awaits. Plus, a deployment of more than one year is bound to seem like an eternity for the soldiers and the families they leave behind.
We bid them Godspeed and a safe journey home.
