How Hawai'i hotels are faring

Statewide occupancy showed a 14.7 percent gain over the same period last year to 77.8 percent, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC. The statewide average daily rate also improved to $167.12. Maui led all islands in occupancy at 80.3 percent. Rates on Maui remained relatively flat at $188.84. O'ahu's occupancy reached 79.2 percent while its average rate increased to $126.87. Kaua'i showed an increase in occupancy to 67.3 percent, while the Big Island recorded an increase to 72.5 percent.
