Pimpbot in Wahiawa and Kailua
Ska-rockers Pimpbot take the stage this weekend at two O'ahu spots. Catch the infectious high-energy tunes of band members Tom Coleman, Mike Lewis, Fernando Pacheco, Rylan Yee and Chris LaPan at:
- 9 p.m.-1 a.m. tonight at Kemo'o Farm, The Pub in Wahiawa. The No No Boys joins in on the fun. Cover is $5, for 21 and older. 621-1835.

- A candlelight and bell-ringing ceremony takes place at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Nagasaki Peace Bell on the Honolulu Hale Civic Center grounds. The Royal Hawaiian Band will play selections from Duke Ellington's Sacred Concert followed by performances by the Central Union Church's Youth On The Move choir, the Wesley United Methodist Church bell choir, and Jerry B. Wilson and The Ministry of Fire. 523-4674.
- The African American Education Center Hawaii hosts the 2004 Freedom Walk/Run at 6:30 a.m. Monday around Kap'iolani Park. Entry fees are $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger. All proceeds benefit the African American Cultural Center Hawaii. After the run, there will be entertainment at the bandstand. 597-1341.
- The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition-Hawai'i sponsors a parade and unity rally Monday. The parade begins at 9 a.m. at Magic Island and travels along Kalakaua Avenue toward Kapi'olani Park. University of Hawai'i athletic director Herman Frazier is grand marshal. The parade will include bands, unions, political organizations, community organizations and beauty queens.
- After the parade, there will be a unity rally at Kapi'olani Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring food, crafts and kiddie games and rides. On the entertainment lineup: Azure McCall, Bobby Thursby's Night Train blues band, Bootsie, Chris Vandercook and company, Fred Walker, Franchize Rappers, J. Ghotti, Jerry Wilson and group, Kimberly Bradford, Kuumba West African Dance and Drums, Leilehua Step Club, SmokeTrain and Company, Shirley Syper's Keiki's Vocal Dance Expressions, Rubina Collier, City of Refuge Gospel Choir, Hickam Gospel Choir and Trinity Gospel Choir. Admission is free.
A pops tribute to the Beatles
Take a trip down Abbey Road with the Honolulu Symphony Pops in a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' debut in America. Tribute concerts will be held at the Blaisdell Concert Hall at 8 p.m. today and Saturday as part of the Hawaiian Airlines Pops series and in remembrance of the Beatles' 1964 appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
