City Bank cites support in poll

CB Bancshares, parent of City Bank, said yesterday a poll it commissioned shows 79 percent of the public is opposed to Central Pacific Financial Corp.'s hostile attempt to buy City Bank.

The poll conducted by Pacific Fielding Center Inc. also said 82 percent of Central Pacific customers oppose the takeover. The margin of error was 4.7 percentage points for the public survey and 8.4 percentage points for Central Pacific customers, City Bank said in a news release.
