Aikido

• Ongoing — Lokahi Ki-Aikido Children and Adult Classes. At Waipahu Rec Center. Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. Fee: $15 a month. Information: 677-1763 or 384-7555.

Basketball

• Feb. 27 — Deadline for La Pietra Girls Preseason Basketball Classic, March 4-6. Intermediate (seventh through ninth grades). Fee: $75 ($85 after Feb. 27). Information: Bernie Paloma, 737-8464 or Katie Bourne 922-2744.

Karate

• February — Beginning classes. Hawai'i Shotokan Karate will start a three-month beginner course in karate the first week of February at dojos in Manoa, Kane'ohe, 'Aiea and Kaimuki in the evenings. One child $75, two children $100, family $125 and one adult $80. Call 988-7128 for more information.

• Ongoing — American Karate Kai Classes. At 'Ewa Beach Kamiloa Elementary School and 'Aina Haina Holy Nativity Church Gym. Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Self-defense classes available for women. Information: Lee Donohue, 396-9297.

Lacrosse

Softball

• Jan. 25—Girls fast-pitch softball clinic. At Palolo District Park, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fielding throwing, pitching, hitting and running will be covered. Glove and shoes required. Information: 351-1465.

Run/Walk

• Jan. 31— Newman Center 5k Fun Run/Walk at UH campus. Fee: $13 students, $18 adults. Information: Newman Center at 988-6222 or Vince Costello at 988-2379.

Swimming

• Ongoing — University of Hawai'i Masters Swim Club. At the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. Open to adult swimmers of all ability levels. Morning workouts Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.; evenings, Monday through Friday 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and Monday through Thursday, 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fee: $40 per month. Tennis
