Two men arrested after SUV hits couple

Advertiser Staff

Two 21-year-old men were arrested yesterday in a vehicle that hit two tourists in a Waikiki crosswalk.

A 73-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, both from North Dakota, were taken to The Queen's Medical Center. Police said one of the pedestrians was in serious condition last night and the other was in guarded condition.

Police said a sport utility vehicle traveling west on Ala Moana hit the couple near Hobron Lane. It continued down Ala Moana toward Atkinson Drive before turning around and returning to the scene.

Police arrested the two men on several traffic charges in a nearby parking lot. Both men are from Pearl Harbor.
