• Steve Anderson, vice president of community building, and "story master" of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc., will offer insights into its retail successes in a speech, "The Krispy Kreme Story," tomorrow before the Hawai'i Advertising Federation. • John Garibaldi, a partner, and Timothy Dick, chairman, of the proposed Hawaii Superferry interisland system will speak Thursday to the luncheon meeting of the Hawaii Economic Association from 11:45 a.m. (registration) at The Plaza Club, Pioneer Plaza. Hawaii Superferry hopes to have the first of the four-story high, 340-foot-long catamarans in service beginning in 2006 between O'ahu, Kaua'i, Maui and the Big Island. • A panel of four leaders from San Diego's biotech industry will participate in a symposium Wednesday at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. The gathering, "HAWAI'I'S BIOSCIENCE FUTURE: Focus on Facilities and Infrastructure," 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., is sponsored by the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawai'i, and Enterprise Honolulu. The four leaders will speak on what the state can learn from successes in the bioscience and biomedical fields in San Diego, where wet lab space outpaces even shopping center space by 3 million square feet.
