Sale of resort postponed

The sale of the Makaha Resort Golf Club to a Canadian resort operator has been postponed until Feb. 19, according to the current property owner.

Towne Realty Inc., the property's current owner, originally told state labor officials that the resort would be sold and closed on Jan. 22.

Sears manager promoted

Anne Hand, Hawai'i district manager for Sears, Roebuck and Co., has been promoted to district manager for the Phoenix region overseeing 13 stores.

Hand, a 25-year Sears employee who previously was human resources chief for the Western region of Sears, oversaw Hawai'i's six stores for two years.
