Kamehameha Highway reopened

Police reopened Kamehameha Highway in front of Dole Plantation at about 4 p.m. today after closing it for about three hours due to downed poles in the road.

Automobiles were trapped between the poles and police were still investigating the situation.

No one was reported injured and no ambulance was sent to the scene, according to Emergency Medical Services.

Hawaiian Electric Co. sent a crew to investigate, but said its monitors do not indicate a downed line.
