Tonight's Must-See

"Ed," 8 p.m., NBC. There are sibling troubles for both lovers tonight. For Carol, it's her sister Stella (Nicki Aycox). She's made another shaky romantic choice. For Ed, it's his brother Lloyd (Tim Busfield). Lloyd is in trouble again. This time he brings all his possessions and moves in. Busfield also has worked on the show as a director and a producer. Still, acting is his original game. He was an Emmy-winner on "thirtysomething." Now he can step back into Lloyd's loser life.

"Monk," 10 p.m., USA Network. Billy Burke is a handsome guy who simply looks like a TV star. Last season, he was the evil husband in "24." Now, appropriately, Burke plays a TV star. His ex-wife has been killed and he's a logical suspect. Monk and Sharona visit the set and start to have doubts. Things are complicated when a fan (Sarah Silverman) confesses.

Of Note

"Joan of Arcadia," 7 p.m., CBS. Joan — definitely not the cheerleader type — is told by God to try out for the cheerleading squad.

"The Client" (1994), 8 p.m. FX, and "Stepmom" (1998), 8:15 p.m., TBS. Choose a Susan Sarandon film here. You can make it a double-feature if you tape one and watch it later. "Client" has a terrific John Grisham story, with Sarandon as a lawyer representing a boy who becomes a crime witness. "Stepmom" has a so-so story, but great performances by Sarandon and Julia Roberts, as Ed Harris' former and current wives.

"JAG," 8 p.m., CBS. When a Marine loses his radio in Iraq, other soldiers are endangered.

"Life With Bonnie," 8:30 p.m., ABC. Bonnie and Mark get a surprise anniversary dinner — when they'd rather be bickering.
