UH holds off Tulsa in double overtime

Logan Lee hit a 3-pointer and two free throws late in the game to lift the University of Hawaii men's basketball team to a 73-71 double overtime victory Saturday over host Tulsa in a game between first-place teams in the Western Athletic Conference.

UH is 7-2 in the WAC and 15-4 overall. Rice is 6-3 and 14-6 The Rainbows will maintain at least a share of first should Fresno State (6-2, 10-7) win at Nevada today.

UH overcame a poor shooting day with strong rebounding. The Rainbows made 36 percent of their field-goal attempts (26 of 73), but outrebounded the Golden Hurricane, 50-39.

Lee's 3-pointer gave UH a 70-67 lead. He and Michael Kuebler added free throws at the end. UH's Julian Sensley had 20 points and 13 rebounds.

The game was tied at 55 at the end of regulation and 64 at the end of the first overtime. UH had opportunities to win but Michael Kuebler hit a jumper at the end of regulation and Jeff Blackett was short on a fadeaway jumper at the end of the first overtime.
