Body of man found in tent near Sand Island Beach Park

The decomposing body of a man was found yesterday in a tent near Sand Island Beach Park.

Police received an anonymous call shortly before 3:30 p.m. that a dead man was in the bushes near the park. Officers found the body, in the early stages of decomposition, in a tent.

Police said there were no signs of foul play, but an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.

The man has not yet been identified, police said.
