ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Surf flick plays at concert hall

Advertiser Staff and News Services

The surf's up on the big screen once again tonight with the opening of "Blue Horizon" at 8 p.m. at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Tickets are $10 at the door and $8 in advance. It will also be shown throughout Hawai'i at various times over the next week or so.

Instead of following waves around the globe, much of the film is devoted to Kaua'i's Andy Irons and New Zealand's Dave Rastovich, two world-class surfers with different reasons for riding.

After the evening wear

Something to ponder: Lifestyle Monitor reports that when it comes to what we wear to bed, 27 percent of consumers wear sleepwear, 15 percent wear a T-shirt, 15 percent wear shorts or boxers, 13 percent wear a T-shirt and boxers, and 9 percent wear nothing at all.

Where do you fit in?

FINAL WORD

Kirsten Dunst: The actress who plays Peter Parker's girlfriend Mary Jane in "Spider-Man 2," on how she would end the movie trilogy:

"It would actually be really interesting if Spider-Man died, I think. Because why doesn't the superhero ever die? It would be so sad and beautiful if Mary Jane was alone and pregnant and he died. She could give birth to a spider baby and carry on the series."
