HOLES IN ONE
Busy week capped with ace
Lehua Wise

Wailua Golf Course
Hole No. 3, 226 yards, 7-wood
Days after competing with Michelle Wie, Stephanie Kono and other Hawai'i golfers in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship in Virginia, Lehua Wise, 18, returned home and scored a hole in one.
"I kind of popped it up and it went on the green," Wise said of her shot on a downwind 226-yard No. 3 at Wailua. "We watched it and my uncle (Wally Iwasaki) yelled: 'It went in.' "
It was Wise's third ace.
Her hole in one capped a frenzied week in which she golfed Sunday through Friday (in Virginia), flew home all day Saturday and golfed again Sunday and Monday.
"I was still on Mainland time on Sunday, so I got up at 1 (a.m.) ready to go because it's 7 (a.m.) in Virginia," said Wise, who lost to In-Bee Park in the round of 32. Wise was among eight Hawai'i golfers to qualify for Public Links match play.
Wise, who golfs for New Mexico State, won the Sun Belt Conference title as a freshman last season.
