Mission Houses will expand opening hours

The Mission Houses Museum is opening its doors more days and hours to make the museum more accessible to the public.

Beginning Tuesday, the museum will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Guided tours of the houses and print shop will be offered at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 4:30 Tuesdays through Saturdays; 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Sundays. An additional tour is offered at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays. The museum's 26th annual quilt show, "The Nature of Hawaiian Quilts," will debut July 23 and be displayed through Sept. 18, during regular museum hours.

Admission prices remain the same for the house tours and exhibitions: General $10; kama'aina/military/seniors $8; students $6. Exhibition admission is $6, or $12 combined with a house tour. Discounted prices (adult $4, student $3, exhibition $3) are available on the last day of each month.
