Looking ahead to this year, I have tried to share with my teammates, as well as my brother, the importance of teamwork.
My younger brother Jacob (of San Diego State) is rated as the top cornerback in the Mountain West Conference by collegefootballnews.com. I have told him that, to me, he is one of the best if not the best players in his conference.
However, his hype is based partly on his fantastic sophomore season and his potential for his upcoming junior year.

Most often people get national recognition and lose the hunger they once had.
Since I have been training here with strength coach Mel deLaura in the voluntary workouts, there is a sense of accountability from my teammates.
The majority of us understand what is at stake this upcoming year. Moreover, we seem to be closer as a family than in all my years at the University of Hawai'i.
As this year approaches, the phrase, "you're only as strong as your weakest link," should be taken into consideration.
This Warrior team has tremendous potential. However, potential is useless if it is not acted out.
Our goal as a team is to unlock everyone's maximum potential in order to achieve success.
We will begin 7-on-7 drills this week.
I will be anxious to go against our proven corps of playmakers, namely slotbacks Chad Owens, Nate Ilaoa and Britt Komine; running back Michael Brewster and relatively unknown, speedy receiver Marcus Weems.
Furthermore, Heisman hopeful quarterback Tim Chang will no doubt try to make me look silly out there in his attempts to throw as many completions as he can.
As a competitor, I will challenge myself to make this unrealistic.
Going against Tim Chang will make me and my teammates better.
