Earth Charter event set for Sunday

A free event celebrating the Earth Charter, a set of principles for building a just, sustainable and peaceful global society, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Buddhist SGI-USA Culture Center in Nu'uanu.

Exhibits and presentations by The Nature Conservancy, the United Nations Association Hawai'i and the Board of Water Supply will address global and environmental issues such as conservation in Hawai'i and nuclear devastation in the Marshall Islands.

There will also be hula performances.
