State pushes immunizations
More than 2,000 sixth-graders were recently rewarded for completing immunization requirements, but the state Department of Health warns many still must get their vaccinations.
Through the Vax to School project, the state Department of Health, Subway Restaurants and Frito-Lay Hawai'i gave sandwiches, chips and drinks to sixth-grade classes in which 100 percent of students had the required documentation.
Although twice as many schools were rewarded this year than in 2003, many students are still lacking documentation.
