Body found in Kealia Kai area

LIHU'E, Kaua'i — The body of a man was found lying on the ground near a vehicle along the coast near Kealia yesterday.

Police said they received a report about the body at 3:28 p.m. They arrived at the scene near the ocean in the Kealia Kai area north of Kealia Beach.

The body appeared to be that of a 30-year-old Caucasian man. There were no immediate indications of foul play, according to a press release from the mayor's office.

Police did not release the man's name. An autopsy has been ordered.
