Get scoop: USA water polo upsets Hungary

Today at 10 a.m., USA network will televise a water polo match between USA and No. 1 Hungary.

The match was played Monday and USA, ranked No. 6 coming out of the summer, defeated Hungary, 11-9.

Brandon Brooks, a 1999 Punahou graduate and UCLA senior, is the team's starting goalie.

"He played the entire game and had seven saves," said his father Scott of Honolulu. "Hungary is the defending gold medalist, No. 1 in the world."

Ryan Bailey had five goals and was named USA Today Olympic athlete of the week.
