Tonight's Must-See

All-Star game, 7 p.m., Fox. A baseball fan's dream lineup. In the National League outfield are Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds — who have each hit more than 500 home runs. Ken Griffey Jr, also with 500, will be there, watching after hurting his hamstring again. In the American League, Yankees dominate the infield with Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Jason Giambi. The game is in Houston, with the Astros providing a starting second baseman (Jeff Kent) and, presumably, a starting pitcher (Roger Clemens).

"P.O.V.: Thirst," 10 p.m., PBS. In Bolivia's third-largest city, the World Bank convinced the government to put an international consortium — led by Bechtel Corp. — in charge of the water supply. Rates soared and people protested, successfully. For counterpoint, this well-made film shows Stockton, Calif., which turned its water system over to a British corporation.

Of Note

"Last Comic Standing," 7 and 8 p.m., NBC. First is a rerun of last week's episode, which includes a comedy roast. Alonzo Bodden has especially brilliant material. Then comes the new hour, which trims the field to six. There is also a challenge in which the comedians must become clowns, literally.

"8 Simple Rules," 7 p.m., ABC. Tatum O'Neal plays a PTA member who attracts Jim (James Garner).

"I'm With Her," 7:30 p.m., ABC. Cybill Shepherd guests as the mother of Alex (Teri Polo), the movie star, who's nervous about Oscars night.

"According to Jim," 8 p.m., ABC. Jim seems to have a friend conveniently visiting whenever his wife wants him at a function.

"Summerland," 8 p.m., WB. Ava sees her son's girlfriend kissing someone else.

"Amazing Race," 9 p.m., CBS. Last week's terrific opener launched some fascinating duos. Tonight, they go from Uruguay to Argentina.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. A criminology student is raped and murdered, and police may be chasing someone who is expert on covering up evidence.

"Nip/Tuck," 10 p.m., FX. Christian decides to battle Gina for custody of Wilbur by seeking help from a former paramour. And the doctors encounter a woman with a plastic surgery addiction.
