LONG BEACH, Calif. — Goalkeeper Brandon Brooks, a Punahou School alum, was selected to the 13-man U.S. Olympic water polo team yesterday.

Wolf Wigo was selected to the U.S. team for the third time, while Tony Azevedo and Ryan Bailey were selected for the second time.

The Americans finished sixth at the Sydney Games four years ago.

Omar Amr, cut in 2000, made the team, along with Layne Beaubien, Genai Kerr, Dan Klatt, Brett Ormsby, Jeff Powers, Chris Segesman, Jesse Smith and Adam Wright.

Wigo was chosen as captain of the team coached by Ratko Rudic, who won a gold medal playing for the former Yugoslavia in the 1968 Olympics.
