We all scream for ice cream — really!

July is National Ice Cream month, so break out the hot fudge and banana splits — it's time to celebrate with a few creamy cold factoids, provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture:
• Vanilla remains the most popular flavor (33 percent), followed by chocolate flavors (19 percent).
• Ice cream and related frozen desserts are consumed by more than 90 percent of U.S. households. Date tonight? Family time? Check out the Kaka'ako Waterfront Park's carnival and food festival that opens tonight (6 to midnight and continues tomorrow (noon to midnight) and Sunday (noon to 10 p.m.).
