Kamehameha Schools junior Mari Chun of Pearl City held on to win the 15- to 17-year-old girls title at the Callaway Golf Junior World Golf Championships in San Diego.

Chun, 16, won by one stroke after shooting a final-round 2-over 76 yesterday at the Torrey Pines North Course for a four-day total of 287.

The Junior World is considered a major international tournament.

Chun's nearest competitor entering the day, Juliana Murcia of Colombia, also shot 76, and finished second at 288, along with Taiwan's Ya-Ni Tseng, who shot a 4-under 70.

There were 135 golfers in the division.

Chun parred the final hole — a par 5, 460-yarder — while Murcia and Tseng birdied.

Hilo's Amanda Wilson tied for 20th with a 9-over 303.

In the boys' 15-17 division, Lihue's Allan Baab shot a 1-over 73 yesterday and finished 10th overall among 202 competitors. Baab's four-day total was 6-over 294. Jason Day of Australia won the division with a 7-under 281.
