Kono fourth at Junior PGA event

Honolulu's Stephanie Kono, who shared the second-round lead with Angela Park, could not keep up with the Torrance, Calif., golfer down the stretch — finishing 15 strokes back of Park in the 2004 Westfield Junior PGA Championship at Westfield Center, Ohio.
Kono shot 74—292 to finish fourth.
Hilo's Jacob Low shot 72—302 to finish in 34th — 22 strokes behind winner Daniel Woltman of Wisconsin.
Elsewhere, Xyra Suyetsugu of Honolulu shot 3-over 223 to win the girls division of the Marshalia Ranch Junior at Vandenberg (Calif.) Air Force Base. Ryan Perez of Honolulu shot 230 to tie for 27th in the boys division.
Park shot her second consecutive tournament-record-tying 5-under 66 yesterday to finish at 7-under 277 and beat runner-up Jennie Lee by 10 strokes.
