Box Office

Will Smith has the summer crowd well programmed. His sci-fi thriller "I, Robot" is Smith's latest No. 1 July debut, opening with $52.25 million and bumping "Spider-Man 2" from the top spot at the weekend box office, according to studio estimates.

"Spider-Man 2" slipped to No. 2 with $24.2 million, lifting its total domestic haul to $301.7 million after 19 days. The weekend's other new wide release, Hilary Duff's romance "A Cinderella Story," premiered in third place with $13.8 million. Will Farrell's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" was fourth with $13.4 million, and Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" came in at No. 5 with $7 million.

Tube Talk

"North Shore" came to town last night. Pipeline Café regulars may have recognized the surroundings of the TV show's wet T-shirt contest. Fox rented the club last month to shoot the scene.

You also may have noticed the reappearance of Dylan Bruno, who was in the pilot for "The Break" last year. The series wasn't picked up, but he's reappeared as a returning surfer who is MJ's old boyfriend and won't accept the fact she's moved on.

Look for him again in upcoming episodes.

Final word

Halle Berry, star of "Catwoman," which opens Friday, telling "Access Hollywood" her thoughts on marrying again:

"I never, ever will. I know that I'll be committed and I'll find a guy, I just won't do it traditional. I think after two times, I should stop."
