Outstanding player watch list adds Chang

University of Hawai'i senior quarterback Tim Chang was named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, given annually to the nation's most outstanding college football player.
Chang, one of 41 candidates, needs 2,218 yards to surpass Ty Detmer's NCAA passing record of 15,031.

It is the second preseason watch list to include Chang. Earlier, he was named as one of 42 candidates for the Davey O'Brien Award, for the nation's top college quarterback.
Voters for the Maxwell College Award include coaches, athletic directors, members of the Maxwell Football Club and sportswriters and sportscasters from across the country.
