Part of H-1 Freeway in Kalihi to be closed tonight

Advertiser Staff

Two of the four eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway in Kalihi will be closed late tonight, from 10 a.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, for emergency work, the state Department of Transportation announced this afternoon.

There was no immediate explanation for the cause of the closure. Cars could be observed dipping down as they crossed a low spot in the roadway, which has been prepared for repaving.

The two left lanes will be closed near the Gulick Avenue overpass.

The state advises motorists to use caution in the work area or consider an alternate route.
