Woman injured in H-1 accident

A woman was seriously hurt in a multivehicle crash early this morning on the H-1 Freeway near the Ka'onohi Overpass in Pearl City.

Three eastbound lanes were closed at 4:39 a.m. as a result of the accident. The lanes were reopened at 6:30 a.m. after two vehicles were towed away, and debris and fuel cleaned off the roadway.

The woman was taken to The Queen's Medical Center.

Three charged in tow incident

Two of three men arrested Wednesday on suspicion of trying to tow a car from a parking lot at 1111 Pi'ikoi St. without the owner's permission were charged yesterday with second-degree theft.

Keoki K. Leslie, 39, and Michael Cregan, 35, were scheduled to be arraigned today at District Court. Bail for both is $15,000.

A third man, 24-year-old David Belt, was charged with first-degree burglary and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Boy, 17, held in Chinatown attack

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy for questioning about a Chinatown robbery early today.

A man, 57, told police he was walking near North Beretania and 'A'ala streets at 1:10 a.m. when he was confronted by a youth, who demanded his wallet and money. The man was allegedly beaten by the youth and a second male.

Witnesses later pointed out the boy to police, who said they arrested him on suspicion of on second-degree robbery after he was found to be in possession of the victim's watch. The victim was treated for injuries, which police said were serious.
