New president at Parker Ranch

Parker Ranch has appointed real estate consultant Chris J. Kanazawa as president and chief executive officer.

Kanazawa will be responsible for daily management of the Big Island ranch, and will also oversee the financial, investment and business activities of the operation.

Kanazawa, a graduate of the University Lab School, has had his own real estate consulting firm on O'ahu. Parker Ranch is one of the largest ranches in the United States, spanning more than 175,000 acres across the Big Island.



APA convention to benefit state

The American Psychological Association annual meeting scheduled for the Hawai'i Convention Center next week is expected to generate an estimated $33.5 million in visitor spending and $2.8 million in tax revenue.

More than 10,000 delegates from the group, which is the largest association of psychologists worldwide, are expected to attend the conference.
