ANIMAL COMPANIONS
Allow your pets to pose for a purpose

Hawaiian Humane Society

2005 pet pin-up calendar deadline will be Friday.

Animal lovers are notorious for taking lots of photos of their pets. The Hawaiian Humane Society has a way to show off your best pet photo — the 2005 Pets in Paradise calendar! Follow the guidelines and your pet photo will be included in the Hawaiian Humane Society1s fund-raising calendar.

Photo entries will be judged by a panel of professionals. The top 14 photographs will be featured as "pets of the month" for December 2004 through December 2005 plus the front cover. All other photos will be included as part of the colorful collage pages.

Guidelines for photos:

  • Color photo prints.
  • Horizontal layout.
  • No bigger than 4 by 6 inches.
  • Picture ONLY animals, no people.
  • Include $15 entry fee with each photo.

All photos that meet these requirements will be included in the 2005 calendar, printed locally and available for sale at the Hawaiian Humane Society on Nov. 1. For more information, an entry form and tips for taking great pet photographs, call 946-2187, ext. 225.

Photo entries will not be returned. Unfortunately, the Society cannot accept Polaroid photos, disks, e-mail or computer-generated photos printed on plain paper.

The deadline is Friday at the Hawaiian Humane Society, 2700 Wai'alae Ave., Honolulu, HI 96826. Stop by the Society with your photo entries next week. Entry forms also are available online at www.hawaiianhumane.org in the Calendar of Events section.
