BEST BETS

• Top executives from Finance Factors — including Chief Executive Officer Russell Lau and President Steven Teruya — will join guest chef Michael Arita of the Pacific Beach Hotel to help serve the bank's annual downtown Finance Factors Benefit Breakfast, a fund-raiser this year for Hawai'i Meals on Wheels. The bank expects to serve over 1,000 scrambled eggs/rice/Portuguese sausage breakfast plates at the fund-raiser, 6:30 to 9:30 a.m., Aug. 6, in front of the Finance Factors Center at 1164 Bishop St. A VIP reserved section will offer a special version of the breakfast prepared by Arita — including gourmet made-to-order omelets, fresh local fruit and juice — for a $100 donation for a group of four.   • A free college-savings planning seminar will be hosted by State Farm Insurance at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at University of Phoenix, Mililani Town Center. Reservations: 677-5800.

• THE MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER OF HONOLULU offers free weekly orientation sessions to minority business owners and prospective entrepreneurs.
