LINDSEY CARRY, a 15-year veteran of The Queen's Medical Center, has been named director of the new 8,700-square-foot Women's Health Center, scheduled to open at Queen's this fall.

The facility, located inside the hospital's new main lobby, will bring together all women's diagnostic and preventative healthcare services, with extended hours and valet parking. Services will include mammography and breast health, osteoporosis, menopause consultations, and physical therapy services for pregnancy and postpartum.

Carry will oversee the design, program and marketing development, staffing and overall implementation of the new facility. Lindsey most recently served as manager of patient relations, volunteer services and the hospital gift shop.

STEVE HIRAMOTO, a 24-year veteran of KHON-TV, has been named director of sales and marketing at KHNL-TV (News 8) and KFVE-TV (K5, The Home Team). He was most recently national sales manager at Fox affiliate KHON-TV and CBS affiliate KGMB-TV, jointly owned by Emmis Communications Corp.

• Former Hawai'i first lady VICKY CAYETANO, president of United Laundry Services Inc., is among nine people elected to the board of directors of The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.

Other newly elected board members include CAROL AI MAY, vice president, City Mill Co. Ltd.; CHRISTOPHER BENJAMIN, vice president and chief financial officer, Alexander & Baldwin Inc.; PERRY CONFALONE, a partner, Carlsmith Ball LLP; VICKI GAYNOR, vice president, Environet Inc.; GABE LEE, senior vice president, American Savings Bank; PETER LEWIS, vice president, Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc.; GREG SATO, director, Torkildson Katz Fonseca Moore & Hetherington; and ROBERT WILKERSON, president and chief executive officer, Grace Pacific. Corp.

The new board chairman, who assumed duties at the chamber's annual membership luncheon July 15, is CHRISTINE CAMP FRIEDMAN, president and chief executive officer of Avalon Development Co. LLC, a Honolulu real-estate development and acquisition consulting firm.

• Two appointments have been announced at the Turtle Bay Resort:

  • MALGORZATA BARDZIK-COX, assistant controller at Turtle Bay since 2002, has been named controller. Her experience includes executive management in Washington, D.C., and financial accounting at Radisson Hotels & Resorts in Poland and Russia.
  • DANIEL J. DAUGHTRY has been named director of conference and food and beverage services. Daughtry, whose Hawai'i experience has included working as restaurant manager for the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, and with the Hyatt Regency Maui, was most recently director of food and beverage for the Pacific Islands Club Resort Saipan in the Northern Marianas Islands.

KEITH MUROTA has been hired by Island Insurance Companies as a personal lines underwriter in the personal insurance division.

DONNA MIYASHIRO, human resources coordinator for Prada Hawaii, was elected president of the American Business Women's Association's Na Kilohana O Wahine chapter.

Other elected officers include the vice president, MEI NG, logistics supervisor, Prada Hawaii; secretary, DOLORES "DEE" BITONIO, human resources supervisor, ABC Stores; co-treasurers, MYRTLE CHING-RAPPA, University of Hawai'i director of student employment; and CHASSIDY SHINNO, UH employment services specialist.

WENDI VASCONCELLOS has been named leisure sales manager for Castle Resorts & Hotels. She will oversee the retail travel trade, kama'aina and groups market. She was most recently sales manager for Hawaiian Earth Products, and has worked for National Car Rental and Outrigger Hotels & Resorts.

• Maui Soda & Ice Works' Roselani Ice Cream has hired nine-year Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream veteran MICHAEL WEBB as its plant manager. Veteran Maui marketing professional DIANE LEE has been named Roselani Ice Cream brand manager. Previously, she served as the first program associate of the Maui Coastal Land Trust, and has been involved with such Maui companies as Mark Rolfing's Golf Hawaii Productions, TCI Cablevision, and Maui Arts and Culture Center, and has served as vice-president/general manager of Orchards of Hawaii.
